Group/Centre Activities services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provide individuals with disabilities opportunities to participate in group-based programs and activities within community centers or specialized facilities. These services aim to promote social inclusion, skill development, and community engagement while offering a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals to connect with others and pursue their interests.
NDIS-funded Group/Centre Activities may include:
- Recreational and leisure activities: Participation in group outings, sports, arts and crafts, music sessions, cooking classes, and other recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of participants.
- Skill-building workshops: Opportunities to develop social skills, communication skills, independent living skills, and vocational skills through structured workshops and training programs.
- Socialization and peer support: Regular gatherings and social events that provide opportunities for individuals to build friendships, share experiences, and support one another in a safe and inclusive setting.
- Community integration: Activities focused on promoting community involvement, volunteering, and civic engagement to foster a sense of belonging and connection to the wider community.
