Household Tasks Services encompass a range of supports designed to assist individuals with disabilities or those who require extra assistance due to age or other factors in managing their household responsibilities. These services aim to enhance independence, improve quality of life, and maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
Typically provided by trained support workers, Household Tasks Services may include:
- Cleaning: Assistance with household cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and tidying up living spaces.
- Laundry: Support with washing, drying, folding, ironing, and organizing laundry, as well as assistance with changing bed linens.
- Meal Preparation: Help with meal planning, grocery shopping, food preparation, cooking, and storing meals to ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Errands and Shopping: Assistance with running errands, such as picking up prescriptions, paying bills, or shopping for groceries and household essentials.

Can I access the NDIS?
You need to meet the following requirements:
- Have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
- Be aged less than 65 when you first access the scheme
- Be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident who holds a Protected Special Category Visa
- Live in an area where the NDIS is available.
